Penned & Pressed

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly do I get?

Two original songs produced from your lyrics, the ability to pick your favourite, one included round of edits, and a released, distributed track once you're happy with it.

Do I own my song?

You always own the lyrics you write and upload — that never changes. The music, the production, and the final recording belong to Penned & Pressed, because we're the ones who register the track and release it worldwide, and who stay responsible for it on every platform it's live on for as long as it's out there. It works the way a record deal does: the label owns the master because the label carries the release; you keep what's yours — the words. Full detail is in our IP & Licensing terms.

What if I don't like either song?

[Decide: does a free-text edit round apply here too, or is a separate redo policy needed for "neither song works for me"?]

How many edits do I get?

One round is included with your package. You can buy additional rounds at any time — there's no cap.

How long does it take?

[Fill in typical time from payment to first two songs, and typical edit turnaround.]

What genres do you cover?

[Fill in based on the production team's range.]

Where will my track be released?

[Fill in once a distributor is chosen — e.g. Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music.]

Can I get a refund?

See our Refund & Cancellation Policy — in short, you can cancel and get a full refund before production starts; once our producers begin work, the package is non-refundable because it's bespoke work made specifically for you.

What if my lyrics use someone else's copyrighted words?

You need to own or have the rights to any lyrics you upload. We can't produce or release a song built on lyrics that infringe someone else's copyright — see our Terms & Conditions.
